Malaysia: Sunway Lagoon Opens Nickelodeon Themed Area
The beginning of February saw the opening of the new “Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon” themed area, an expansion of Sunway Lagoon’s water park. The project is the result of a joint initiative between Sunway Group, owner of Sunway Lagoon, and Viacom International Media Networks, which owns the Nickelodeon entertainment brand outside the United States. The new area, which was developed for an investment amount of more than 100 million MYR (about 21.5 million euros), features a total of 14 attractions. The water attractions, including interactive play areas and several water slide rides, were supplied by WhiteWater West and Interlink. The theming works were carried out by Strike Theming & Leisure and Fountain Design & Trading.
Apart from the water park, Sunway Lagoon comprises four further parks, including an amusement park, the “Wildlife Park”, the “Extreme Park” and the “Scream Park”. Read more about the new themed area in one of our next EAP magazine issues. (eap)
