Mecklenburg Vorpommern: Wild West at “Discoveryland”

On the 50-hectare large former military training grounds of former East Germany’s “National People’s Army” in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, a new adventure park with western and medieval shows is to be created in the tradition of American parks: Discoveryland. Overnight accommodations for up to 2,000 hotel and holiday home guests are also to be built parallel to the park’s construction. The investment total is currently estimated to be around 50 million euros. The park is to focus more strongly on the natural spirit than on attractions like rides. Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2008. (eap)
