Mexico: Grupo Vidanta Announces First Attractions for Vidanta World
The Mexican tourism developer Grupo Vidanta yesterday announced the purchase of their first attractions for the new amusement park collection Vidanata World in Nuevo Vallarta (Nayarit, Mexico), which includes numerous theme parks and is currently under construction. For transportation between the Nuevo Vallarta Beach Resort and the theme parks, Austrian manufacturer Doppelmayr will supply “The Vidanta SkyDream“, an aerial gondola with “D-Line technology”. Featuring regular and glass-bottom cars, the cable car will provide guests with a special ride experience. The park, the opening date of which has not been announced yet, will also feature two rides from Intamin Amusement Rides.
The first attraction to be installed by Intamin will be a 45-meter diameter coaster wheel, which is equipped with stationary cabins and those moving along the elliptic tracks inside the wheel. A 40 meter high so-called parachute tower will be the second attraction, where riders will move up and down in their seats connected with steal ropes, while a tower in the middle is rotating. “Our guests have come to expect only the best from our brands, and their anticipation is high for the new entertainment parks. The large investments we are making in the latest ride and transportation technology demonstrates our commitment to setting a new global standard for excellence and fun,“ says Iván Chávez, Executive Vice President of Grupo Vidanta. A new waterpark called Jungula, largely equipped with WhiteWater West attractions, was already opened by the end of June 2019 at Vidanta’s Riviera Maya Resort location. (eap)
