(eap) Movie Park Germany is proud to just have closed the most successful Halloween season in the park’s history. This Halloween fall, the park located near Bottrop was even able to surpass the previous record year of 2022 with a significant increase in guest numbers of nine percent compared to the previous year.

Between the end of September and mid-November, the 26th Halloween Horror Festival took place with a total of eight horror houses, four scare zones and numerous shows and entertainment with over 280 performers in total. With the new attraction “A Quiet Place”, based on the record-breaking Paramount Pictures film franchise, the park opened a new IP horror attraction for the first time since 2018 (see EAP news from 3rd Oct 2024). Movie Park also collaborated with Christian Farla and his team for the first time, creating “Unhallowed – The Freak Show Straight out of Hell” in Studio 7. Based on all 24 event days, the park said it welcomed an average of 14 percent more visitors per day to “Horrorwood Studios” than in the previous year.

“Halloween has long been one of the most important times of the year for us and always attracts a large number of guests,” explains Managing Director Thorsten Backhaus. “Nevertheless, the Halloween Horror festival has never been as successful as it was in 2024. We have been able to build on our successes to date again and are very proud of this new record.” After a total of 202 operating days in the 2024 season, Movie Park can draw a satisfactory conclusion: over the entire regular season (March to November), the park was able to achieve a solid result in terms of visitor numbers, which was slightly above the previous year.

From November 29, Movie Park will kick off the second edition of its “Movie Park’s Hollywood Christmas” event. For 23 event days, the park will be transformed into a Christmas movie set with over 800,000 lights and eye-catching, colorful American decorations. Visitors can look forward to a winter version of the parade, a 360 square meter ice skating rink and four Christmas-themed areas. At the end of each event day, guests can marvel at a new closing show with fire, laser and light effects. ■
