New “Fantasy Springs” Themed Port at Tokyo DisneySea Now Open
(eap) With a total investment volume of around 1.9 billion euros (320 billion yen), this is the most comprehensive expansion of the Tokyo DisneySea theme park since it opened in 2001: the new “Fantasy Springs” area – also referred to by the park as a themed port – with story worlds and attractions based around the Disney animated films “Peter Pan”, “Frozen” and “Tangled” as well as its own associated hotel complex.
Since yesterday, visitors to the Japanese Disney park have been able to experience the new area, which covers a total of around 140,000 square meters and features rides such as “Anna & Elsa’s Frozen Journey” (a boat ride), “Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure” (a 3D ride) and “Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies” (dark ride). Both the management of the operating group Oriental Land Co. and the licensor The Walt Disney Company – including the group’s CEO Bob Iger and the Chairman of the Disney Experiences division, Josh D’Amaro – were present at the opening ceremony to express their thanks to the guests. In the new Fantasy Springs themed port, visitors during yesterday’s opening ceremony had fun and discovered the wide range of attractions on offer.
