New Fairytale Houses at the Märchenwald Isartal
(eap) Since 2017, the Märchenwald Isartal amusement park near Munich has been gradually renewing its more than 20 fairytale houses at the park. Most recently, the houses dedicated to the Brothers Grimm tales “Snow White” and “Mother Hulda” have been modernized. They were demolished and rebuilt by regional companies. The Dutch company Jora Vision was once again responsible for the cladding, outdoor and interior design, while long-time supplier Hofmann was in charge of the figures as well as the lighting and sound technology.
Even from the outside, visitors can discover a highlight at the Mother Hulda house: a “Golden Mary” animatronic looks out of the window and shakes out her beds like in a fairy tale, causing “snow” (in this case artificial snow) to trickle down to earth. Inside the house, an interactive highlight awaits visitors. Here they can discover a digital mirror that individually displays either gold or pitch. By the use of a camera that recognizes the person in front of the mirror, gold is being generated for kids and the random generator has either gold or pitch in store for adults.
While Mother Hulda was redesigned as a classic fairytale house, the Snow White station was realized as a dwarf mine, which also serves as a photo spot from the outside thanks to a walk-in wagon. As with all fairytale presentations at the park, visitors will find three scenes behind windows that invite them to explore more. In addition to the fairytale houses characteristic of the family destination, visitors to the Märchenwald amusement park can enjoy various rides, attractions and offers aimed primarily at families with young children. ■
