New Interactive Dark Ride Coaster Opens at Lagoon Amusement Park
(eap) Last weekend, a new interactive dark ride coaster from German manufacturer ART Engineering opened at the American Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington, Utah. Plans for the attraction, called “Primordial”, have been in the works for eight years. New roller coaster vehicles have been specially developed for it. One train of the coaster consists of two vehicles, each of which can seat four people. After a chain lift about 26 meters high, the coaster rides at a top speed of 65 km/h through several drops and curves before entering a large artificial mountain.
At reduced speed, visitors ride past several screens in the by Triotech implemented indoor dark ride section, where they battle opponents using blasters mounted on the car. To keep the capacity high, the vehicles are directed to two different paths at a switch, where the final sequence can be seen. At the bottom, the vehicles are reunited by means of a switch, and after the 605-meter ride, they are guided into the station. The dark ride experience can be enjoyed by passengers from a height of 105cm. ■
