New Outdoor Area Planned for monte mare Obertshausen
(eap) The monte mare Obertshausen leisure pool in central Germany is to be extended to include a new outdoor area. Among other things, a 50-metre-long swimming pool with a wide water slide and a colourful children’s area with a spray park and slide facility will provide additional water fun in the open air. A gastronomy offer with a beach atmosphere is also planned.
Mayor Manuel Friedrich is enthusiastic about the concept, which was developed in close cooperation between the management of the municipal property company and monte mare and was recently presented to the city council: “The expansion is a great asset for our city. It offers citizens a further opportunity for leisure activities and also strengthens Obertshausen’s attractiveness as a place to live. Together with monte mare, the property company is sending out a strong signal.”
“We are delighted to be able to offer our guests a wide range of activities in the outdoor area in future. The large swimming pool will enable sporty swimming in the fresh air, while the children’s area and the spray park will provide fun and variety for younger bathers. Our aim is to be a place of relaxation and fun for the whole family. Swimming is not only one of the healthiest sports, but also an important leisure activity that we want to make accessible to the public. This investment sets a national tone and underlines our role as the leading leisure pool in the region,” emphasises Patrick Doll, Managing Director of monte mare.
“It was important to us to create a facility that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The new outdoor area of the adventure pool should offer visitors a special experience and at the same time enhance the quality of the overall offer,” adds Sven Drewlo, who is responsible for the planning realisation of the new outdoor area. At the same time as the project was launched, funding was applied for from the state of Hesse as part of the “SWIMplus” programme. The outdoor area is scheduled to open in 2026. ■
