New Owners to Turn Panorama Park into a Wildlife Park

In 2004, the French Grévin Group bought Panorama Park from its founders, the Schulte-Wrede family. Grévin is now selling the park (around 60 hectares) to the entrepreneur Siegfried Hamm, who lives nearby. According to Rascal Hüppe, General Manager of Grévin Germany, Hamm made “a very good offer”, which has resulted in the entire park changing hands, and not just the sale of the wildlife park as had been originally planned. Under the terms of the sale, Hamm agreed not to compete in any way with “Fort Fun” in Sauerland – the last remaining Grévin park in Germany – for a period of ten years. Instead, Hamm is focusing on developing a wildlife park. The only rides that will remain are the summer toboggan run, a slide paradise, playgrounds and climbing structures. In the near future, all the other attractions will be quickly dismantled and divided amongst the other Grévin parks. (eap)
