New SpinOsaurus Ride in Djurs Sommerland Feat Real-Time Waiting Info System
(eap) At the Danish amusement park Djurs Sommerland, the new themed area “Dinosaurland” (see EAP 4/2022), which opened last year, is being expanded with three new attractions. Among them is “SpinOsaurus”, a Disk’O coaster from Italian manufacturer Zamperla. The new ride, which is designed as a dinosaur skeleton, has been equipped with the “pure.AIS” live waiting time calculation technology by German software company purematic.
Djurs Sommerland and purematic have already been working together since 2016. No less than twelve rides have since been equipped with the pure.AIS and pure.DSS solutions. The former enables waiting times to be calculated to the minute by recording visitor numbers both at the entrance and the exit of the respective attraction. In addition to the waiting times, the system also outputs other useful information, so-called RPI’s (Ride Performance Indicators), such as occupancy, lap times, operator speed as well as the total number of visitors. The exact waiting times can then be communicated to visitors via the park’s own app or via the pure.DSS (Digital Signage System) on screens in the park.
In addition to SpinOsaurus, the new attractions “Motorbike Derby”, a Sidecar XL from Technical Park, and a Tea Cup attraction (also from Technical Park) called “Fossilvaskeren” await visitors this season. ■
