New Suspended Coaster at Aztlán Parque Urbano Completes First Rounds
(eap) The longest Suspended Family Coaster installed by Vekoma Rides to date, with a track length of 569 meters, has completed its first rounds with guests at Aztlán Parque Urbano in Mexico City. “Serpentikha” is the name of the new ride, which is open to riders from a height of 1.05 meters and whose track elements include a dark ride section, a horseshoe figure and several twists and turns.
The “maiden voyage” on the ride was a surprising opportunity given to the participants of the “IAAPA Latin America & Caribbean Summit” – a regional get-together for industry professionals with a focus on the Latin American attractions market. During a festive evening event yesterday, the park’s CEO Sergio Haua cut the traditional opening ribbon together with Vekoma Rides representatives Ricardo Etges and Will Snijders as well as IAAPA Chairman Massimiliano Freddi and Paulina Reyes Zazueta, Director of IAAPA’s Latin America office.
With Serpentikha, Aztlán Parque now features another anchor attraction for the family audience. The offer also includes numerous rides from Italian manufacturers, such as an 85-meter-high Ferris wheel (from Fabbri), two family coasters (SBF-Visa), several rides from Zamperla and a carousel from Bertazzon. The amusement park, which is located in a recreational area of Mexico City on the site of the former Feria de Chapultepec amusement park, welcomed its first visitors around a year ago (c.f.
