New at Movieland: Disaster – The Blockbuster Tour
(eap) A new, elaborately themed attraction has opened at Italy’s Movieland – The Hollywood Park, which is part of the CanevaWorld Resort at Lake Garda. “Disaster – The Blockbuster Tour” is the name of the new attraction, which takes visitors to recreated film sets from various disaster movies. Highlights of the sets include “Kong Wave”, “Tornado Fury” and “Shark Park”. Using special effects such as water, fire, CGI technology, LED walls and animatronics, visitors can look forward to various surprise effects.

For example, a waterfall is triggered on the set of Kong Wave and the giant gorilla “Kong” is brought to life in the form of a huge figure. At the heart of Tornado Fury is the simulation of a tornado, which is displayed on a 500 square meter LED wall and amplified by additional effects. Meanwhile, visitors to Shark Park encounter an animatronic shark emerging from a pool of water. Besides the animatronic figures, real actors also take part in the attraction.
Guests are transported in buses that are equipped with audio systems and screens, among other features. On the latter, passengers are accompanied by “Debby”, who entertains visitors during the journey and provides them with additional information. A total of 62 passengers can travel on each bus tour, which lasts around 20 minutes along a distance of some 1.6 kilometres.
“We are proud to present to our guests the largest and most complex attraction of Movieland – The Hollywood Park, a work that took us four years between design and development and allowed us to extend the park in terms of size,” says Fabio Amicabile, CEO of CanevaWorld Resort. ■
