Now Open: Falkensee Indoor Pool Near Berlin
(eap) After around three years of construction, the Hallenbad Falkensee indoor swimming pool in the Havelland region, near Berlin, was recently officially opened. After a soft opening phase with around 2,800 guests, the new swimming pool is now open to all visitors. The indoor pool has a 25-metre sports pool with six lanes, starting blocks and a diving facility with a three-metre tower and one-metre board. For younger bathers, there is also a toddler pool with a water playground and a 38-metre-long tube slide with its own landing pool and a time measurement system. The water slide was supplied by the Dutch company Watergames & More (the firm was recently acquired by Canadian water attraction manufacturer Vortex Aquatic Structures International – see our news from 16.07.2024).
Moreover, the Falkensee indoor pool has a “digital pool supervisor” from Lynxight that uses video cameras and artificial intelligence (AI) to detect dangerous situations in the pool (read more about the latest use cases of AI in swimming pools in our EAP issue 3/2024).
Furthermore, a sauna facility with various sauna chambers, loungers and an outdoor area promises relaxation. There, visitors find an infusion sauna, a bio-aroma sauna and a steam bath. After a sauna session, guests can choose between a splash shower, rain shower, bucket shower and experience shower. A relaxation room, lounge area and sauna garden invite to linger. Kneipp treatments and a cold-water stainless-steel plunge pool round off the spa offer. Besides, there is a bistro where guets can take a break and “recharge their batteries” between sauna and swimming sessions. In addition to the sauna and swimming area, there is also a bowling alley accessible from the foyer. Here, fans of this precision sport can duel it out on four bowling lanes.
The Faleknsee public pool is operated by gegefa Bäder GmbH. Manager is the Munich-based company GMF GmbH & Co. KG. ■
