Opening of “Dock World” & New Roller Coaster at Walibi Belgium

(eap) The Walibi Belgium (Compagnie des Alpes) theme park in Wavre, Belgium, opened its new “Dock World” theme area this past weekend together with its anchor attraction, the “Mecalodon” roller coaster. Just in time for the start of the season and the park’s 50th anniversary, visitors can now explore the new area staged as an industrial harbour and an old fishers’ village.

The anchor attraction in the new themed world is Mecalodon, a multi-launch family coaster from German manufacturer Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, which promises fresh fun for the family audience. There are also other popular Walibi attractions to discover with new theming. New F&B options have been set up for a short break in between, and there is also a shop with all kinds of merchandise and souvenirs. A total of around 35 million euros was invested in the project.
