Opening of “The Flash: Vertical Velocity” Coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure

(eap) This past weekend, the US amusement park Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey kicked off this year’s season and opened its latest coaster addition: “The Flash™: Vertical Velocity”, which is America’s first “Super Boomerang” coaster from Vekoma. Like the DC comic hero “The Flash”, who is known for his superhuman speed, visitors race along the 1,430 feet (around 435-metre)-long roller coaster track at speeds of up to 60 mph (approx. 97 km/h). A combination of seven forward and backward launch sections, four inversions and ten air time moments await visitors. Guests from a height of 48 inches (1.20 meters) are allowed to ride.

“The Flash: Vertical Velocity is the perfect addition to our world-class lineup of roller coasters at Six Flags Great Adventure,” highlights Brian Bacica, park president. “This high-energy ride delivers everything coaster fans are looking for – forward and backward launches, inversions, and an adrenaline rush that even The Flash himself would approve of. With its 48-inch height requirement, junior and experienced thrill seekers alike will have the chance to experience it firsthand.” ■
