Oskarshausen Amusement Park to Open Alpine Coaster
(eap) The Oskarshausen amusement park near Dresden, Germany is going to receive a new attraction next year. The park recently got the approval for the construction of an all-weather toboggan run. The new Alpine Coaster is to be built in the middle of the adjacent forest and will have a track length of 642 meters. Passengers will pass through eleven curves and get over 57 meters before arriving in the valley. There, passengers will also board one of the 28 toboggans. A fully automatic collision protection system is to ensure optimum safety. Thanks to its year-round, weather-independent usability, the attraction also meets the criteria of the tourism development strategy of the Free State of Saxony with regard to the development of year-round tourism.
“Our guests already come from all over Saxony, the neighbouring German states and from the Czech Republic,” says Susan Beulig, the adventure park’s marketing manager. “In the future, we hope that with the large investment in this new toboggan run, we will be able to increase the length of stay even further, so that the guests are animated to spend the night in Freital and to enjoy other attractions such as the Hains leisure pool, Burgk Castle, the Saxon Steam Railway and further offers to increase the tourism value in Freital.” The construction of the Alpine Coaster is scheduled to take about nine months, so that it should be available for visitors next year. The office Lutz Grohmann is primarily responsible for the planning of the project. ■
