Germany: Oskarshausen Opens New “Lemonade Factory” Theme Area
Germany’s Oskarshausen family amusement park, based in Freital near Dresden, opened its new themed area “Oskar’s Lemonade Factory” yesterday. The new zone covers an area of around 1,000 square meters and offers, among other things, two new rides: the 16-meter high “Sprudel Jubel Turm” family drop tower and the “Oskars Brause Sauser” carousel, the vehicle design of which is reminiscent of soda trucks. Both attractions were supplied by SBF-Visa.
To get to “Oskar’s Limo Factory”, the way first leads guests through the “Limo Lab”, housed in a semi open building: two artificially created large soda tanks can be seen on a wall which can be brought to finally bubble by using interactive buttons, what can then be seen on a screen and is accompanied by sound effects. In addition, different scents can be activated so that it smells like refreshing soda varieties. Those who like can even fill a beverage bottle, which is then actually transported and dispensed via an assembly line. This area was realized in cooperation with the aufwind Group.
In addition, a previously existing race track was integrated into the new themed area, inviting young guests to race on electric speedsters. Splashing water fun is provided by the “Limo Labyrinth”, in which the winding path leading between bollards is guided by a water jet – if you take the wrong turn, you’ll get wet! In a new restaurant, which also has a sun terrace for warm days, visitors can enjoy tasty snacks and lemonades.
Oskarshausen has invested an almost seven-figure sum in its new themed area, which was once again planned and designed in collaboration with experience designer Sven Riegel. Incidentally, the Saxon park’s other special visitor attractions include its illusion worlds: Photo exhibitions with 3D installations and optical illusions. The current one will be on display until August 29 this year, after which a new illusion world is to be implemented. (eap)
