Pleasure Beach: New Live-Action Scare Zones for Halloween
(eap) England’s Pleasure Beach Resort (formerly Blackpool Pleasure Beach) has announced two new attractions for this year’s “Journey to Hell: Freak Nights” Halloween event days. Two new live-action scare zones will celebrate their eerie debut: The existing “Alice in Wonderland” ride will transform to “Down the Rabbit Hole” – a nightmarish world in which Alice and her friends have lost their minds. Grotesque figures will be lurking around every corner to scare adrenaline-seeking guests… The second new live-action scare zone will be the “Cabinet of Curiosities” – according to the storyline, the cabinet is the hiding place of a macabre collector, where inexplicable and bizarre things are on display… One gruesome creature is more disturbing than the next and the guests have to escape through a labyrinth of horrors…
Furthermore, visitors can look forward to the familiar “Twisted Tunnels” scare zone from previous years as well as the ghost train ride “The Ghost Train: Vault of Shadows”, which will include more than just the regular scary animatronics during Freak Nights. In addition to the new scare zones, visitors will be offered unlimited use of nine rides this time – last year, three rides were included in the event days and could only be experienced once each. Moreover, the northern part of the park will be transformed into so-called “Haunted Ride Areas” – where live entertainment and themed gastronomic offerings will await park guests.
“This year, Journey to Hell is bigger and more frightening than ever with two brand-new scare zones. After the success of our zone inside the Ghost Train last year, we’ve turned another fan-favourite ride into a terrifying live action area and it promises to be one of our creepiest yet. We’ve tripled the rides available and added ride theming for a more immersive experience. Even the rides that aren’t classed as one of our scare zones will have roaming actors and entertainment close by to create a truly terrifying night. Add that to our own eerie history here at Pleasure Beach Resort and it’s a Halloween event not to be missed,” promises Amanda Thompson, CEO of Pleasure Beach.
The event will take place on selected days from October 11 to 31. In addition to the spooky evening hours for older guests (from 16 years or from ten years accompanied by an adult), there will also be Halloween-worthy entertainment and activities for the whole family during daytime throughout October. ■
