UK: Dark Forces Take over Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter at Halloween
From 23 September to 6 November 2022, visitors to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter can once again explore the dark side of the wizarding world as the “Death Eaters” make their way back to Hogwarts. For this period, over 100 “floating” pumpkins return to the Great Hall. Each expression of the pumpkin faces featured in the film adaptation of the first part of the Harry Potter series of novels has been individually hand-carved by the props team. Also waiting on the tables is a ghoulishly inviting Halloween feast of red apples, pumpkins and cauldrons filled with lollipops. Several times an hour, Lord Voldemort’s followers stalk the sets and perform menacing wand movements from the films.
For the first time this year, visitors to the Studio Tour can discover the secrets of the “Riddikulus” spell: a selection of props from Professor Lupin’s lessons from the third film will be on display, including the boggart’s wardrobe and Neville’s grandmother’s vulture hat. In addition, viscous troll snot and shiny puddles with shimmering unicorn blood, among other things, will be on display in the tour – experts on-site will inform interested visitors about how these curiosities are made.
From 5th to 7th October, the “Hogwarts After Dark” event will once again take place in the Studio Tour: The experience begins in the Great Hall with smoking dry ice cocktails. Guests will then take their seats for dinner and enjoy a two-course meal including drinks before dessert is served in the Forbidden Forest. Like last year, visitors can also use clues in the Studio Tour passes to go on a search for the hidden “Dark Mark” to decode a secret message. Wand fighting moves can also be learned again and put to the test in a duel with the Death Eaters. (eap)
