Puy du Fou Spain Presents New Show & Expands Capacity
© Photo: Puy du Fou España (eap) This past Saturday, the Spanish Puy du Fou park in Toledo opened its doors once again to visitors, who will be able to enjoy a new show this season: “Desmayarse” is the title of the new performance, which is a prequel to “A Pluma y Espada” – one of the first shows at the historically conceived theme park, which was recently honored with a “Brass Ring Award” from the IAAPA in Las Vegas. Thematically, the new show is about a romance between the poet Lope de Vega and a maid, with honor and its defense playing a central role in the times of the “Siglo de Oro”... In the historical theme village “El Askar Andalusí”, a new show restaurant with 200 seats, “El Salón Califal”, is set to open soon, where Arabic delicacies will be on the menu.
Puy du Fou Spain is expanding the grandstand for the successful evening show “El Sueño de Toledo” by an additional thousand seats, bringing the capacity per show performance to 7,000 spectators. In total, the evening show will be performed 152 times this season. In addition, there will be a number of artistic innovations dedicated to the “Siglo de Plata”, including the first bicycle race in Spain, the breakthrough of cinema and the first Spanish flight across the Atlantic in 1925. New rooms and spaces for events will also be available. In 2023, Puy du Fou Spain welcomed more than 1.1 million visitors (c.f. EAP Park Report 2023/24) – the goal for this year (with a total of 185 opening days) is to reach the 1.3 million mark. With over 500,000 tickets already sold, the signs are good for a successful season! ■
