Puzzle Adventures & Escape Games in a Christmassy Atmosphere
(eap) Two new enigma attractions from escape room provider Opolum can be experienced in Hamburg, Germany, this winter. The new Christmas city rally “Abenteuer Weihnachtsmarkt: Die Akademie der Illusionen“ (Engl.: Christmas Market Adventure: The Academy of Illusions) takes guests through the Christmas market at Hamburg’s St Peter’s Church. Up to twelve people at a time can immerse themselves in the accompanying story, which centres on a nearby school of magic.
Christoph Laubis, founder and Managing Director of Opolum, comments on the winter experience: “As the city has a special atmosphere at Christmas time, we want to incorporate the changing circumstances into a new experience. That’s why we deliberately take our guests on a tour of a Christmas market. A break at one of the atmospheric stalls is therefore expressly planned. A motivational mulled wine in between increases motivation in the group,” Laubis says with certainty.
Outdoor escape events are also offered on selected dates, which start after dark. On a tour through the Speicherstadt at night, participants meet various actors who intervene in the story. Special night vision devices are also used at some of the stations which help in solving the puzzles.
“We want the participants to become real secret agents with the right technology. With the high-tech equipment, every participant becomes James Bond!” says Laubis. In addition to the live spectacle, technical equipment and the approximately three-kilometre route, guests can also expect a mulled wine flat rate. A total of up to 40 people – divided into small groups – can take part in the events. ■
