Reimagined “Camp Snoopy” to Launch at Knott’s Berry Farm in 2024
(eap) At the Californian theme park Knott’s Berry Farm (operated by Cedar Fair, resp. Cedar Fair/Six Flags), work is currently underway to redesign the “Camp Snoopy” area, which is set to feature new experiences when it reopens on Memorial Day weekend in May 2024. Specifically, guests can look forward to a new family roller coaster, an off-road adventure and a Giant Swing. In addition to rides, there will also be a new Camp Snoopy theater, a dining hall and a store. The design of the area will be inspired by the Californian High Sierra region and will of course incorporate well-known Peanuts characters such as Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy and Linus, who will also be available to visitors in “Character Meet & Greets” for personal encounters and photos.
The three new rides for the area will be supplied by Italian manufacturer Zamperla. The family roller coaster, which will be called “Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster” in the park, is a “Family Coaster 155”. The attraction “Camp Snoopy’s Off-Road Rally” is a “Convoy Dino Jeep” from the company’s portfolio, while “Sally’s Swing Along” is a giant swing of the "Super Happy Swing 16” model. All new products are designed for families with younger children.
“Experiencing first rides and first theme park moments as a family, is what Knott’s is all about. Our newly reimagined Camp Snoopy will allow parents and kids to ride and play together and be truly immersed in a summer camp experience right alongside the entire Peanuts gang,” said Jon Storbeck, Vice President and General Manager of Knott’s Berry Farm.
“We are excited to partner with Knott’s and open these three attractions next year. All these rides will have a fantastic theme using the Peanuts IP. They will be new experiences for park-goers but themed to fit the great storytelling found at Knott’s Berry Farm,” commented Ramon Rosario, Zamperla’s Sales Director. ■
