Rhön Park Aktiv Resort Opens New Adventure Minigolf Course
(eap) The Rhön Park Aktiv Resort, a family and conference hotel complex in Bavaria (Germany), which includes a swimming pool, an indoor playground and bowling alleys, will soon add a new adventure minigolf course to its range of activities. The opening of the “Rhön MiniGolf” is planned for September 14. According to its name, the twelve courses have been designed in a typical regional Rhön style, for example with Rhön sheep, Rother Kuppe, Wasserkuppe, ski slope and castle ruins. Furthermore, each course features smaller and bigger challenges, so that children as well as ambitious and even tournament players get their money’s worth. “This is something totally different,” emphasize tournament player Michael Zehe and hobby player Marco Hartmann after a test round on the already completed courses. “We’ve never seen lanes like this before,” they assure.
In total, the mini golf course covers an area of around 1,600 square meters. The courses were equipped with a play lawn: “This is more relaxed for guests because, unlike the usual Eternit courses, the entire area can be walked on,” explains Ben Baars, Director of the Rhön Park Aktiv Resort. Another characteristic feature is the use of around 120 tons of boulders and bricks, which were used to construct various plateaus, uphill and downhill courses. The sustainability aspect also played a key role in the construction of the facility, according to the resort. For example, typical Rhön materials such as basalt and solid wood such as oak and robinia, which were supplied by regional companies, were mainly used for the development. In addition, care was taken to seal as little surface area as possible.
A total of around 400,000 euros was invested in the Adventure Golf course. The Bavarian company Abenteuer GolfProjekt was responsible for the construction. ■
