Sonnentherme Lutzmannsburg Opens Austria’s First VR Slide
As Austria’s first waterpark featuring a Virtual Reality (VR) water slide, the Sonnentherme Lutzmannsburg bathing complex today re-opened its “Twister” slide, which was closed down to be expanded by VR technology and can now – under its new name “Space Twister” – be experienced by bathers in virtual worlds. Representatives from politics, economy and press joined the official opening ceremony today. In order to realize this technically demanding project, Sonnentherme Lutzmannsburg cooperated with German slide manufacturer Wiegand Maelzer and the VR specialists from Ballast and Samsung – the companies had also jointly equipped the “Space Glider” slide at Germany’s Therme Erding with VR technology (cf. EAP 1/19).
