Spain/USA: Parques Reunidos and Lionsgate Launch Strategic Partnership
The Spanish operator group Parques Reunidos and the Canadian media company Lionsgate, now headquartered in Santa Monica/California, recently announced their strategic agreement to develop Lionsgate branded leisure centers in high-traffic shopping areas, bringing to life some of Lionsgate’s film and television properties such as “The Hunger Games”, the “Saw” horror franchise and the “Orange Is the New Black” series. These leisure centers are primarily aimed at teenagers and young adults.
Parques Reunidos is currently negotiating the development of a total of 20 centers over the coming years, in addition to five agreements already signed with the Thader Shopping Mall (Murcia/Spain), Dolce Vita Tejo (Lisbon), intu Lakeside (London) and with two of Madid‘s Xanadú retail centers that will open within the following months. “This agreement enables us to continue growing by using one of the strongest tools for international expansion, leisure centers in shopping malls and high-traffic shopping areas, and we are doing this hand in hand with Lionsgate, one of the most successful film and television production companies in the world,” commented Fernando Eiroa, CEO of Parques Reunidos, on the new strategic partnership.
