(eap) The German amusement park Taunus Wunderland opened its new roller coaster, “Gobbi Express”, just in time for the start of the Hessian summer vacations. This is a powered coaster from Mack Rides, which was originally in operation at the end of 2003 as the “Galaxie Express” at the Space Center Bremen. With a track length of over 500 meters, the Gobbi Express runs through sleek curves with an incline of up to 60 degrees and reaches speeds of up to 45 km/h. A total of 30 people can take a seat in the roller coaster train per ride. The coaster is part of the new themed area “Arya’s Drachenschlucht” (Engl.: “Arya’s Dragon Gorge”), which opened already last year with the “Milan Flug” (Engl.: “Milan Flight”) a roundabout from SBF Visa.

“With the opening of the new roller coaster, we are celebrating the first milestone of our biggest project since we took over the park 25 years ago,” says a delighted Otto Barth, Managing Partner of Taunus Wunderland. Further attractions are soon to be added to the themed area, including a music express from SBF Visa as well as a water playground. At a total of around ten million euros, the park expansion is the largest investment made by the Hessian theme park to date.  You can read all the exciting details about this unique coaster in Arya’s Dragon Gorge in our next EAP’s magazine issue.
