The Gallery: New Experiential Dining Concept Debuts in Los Angeles
(eap) Today sees the premiere of a new dining experience concept in downtown Los Angeles: The Gallery. The site consists of two areas – the bar “Horizon Lounge”, which is embedded in a projected, constantly changing city backdrop, and the restaurant “The Theater at The Gallery”, where culinary delights meet technology and live performance.
While guests in the Horizon Lounge can also enjoy a wide range of dishes alongside a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, the restaurant offers a two-hour five-course menu created by chef Joshua Whigham. By the use of projection technology, tables, ceilings and walls in the Theater at the Gallery “come to life” and entertain guests during their meal, supported by live actors. The show program is to be a changing one, with the first show, entitled “Elementa”, not only combining live performance, projection technology and lighting, but also featuring an original soundtrack written and produced by Darin Ulmer. Ulmer was previously responsible for the music at Disneyland and is co-owner of The Gallery, together with business partner Chuck Fawcett. With their company Mousetrappe Media, the two professionals from the leisure and experience industry have brought the new dining attraction to Los Angeles.
In addition to L.A., there are already plans for further The Gallery locations both in the United States and abroad. ■
