The Netherlands: Gold Fever at Slagharen – “Gold Rush” Takes First Ride
Today, Dutch Slagharen amusement park opened the country‘s first triple launch coaster, named “Gold Rush” and immersing guests into the Wild West of 1848. That was the year when James W. Marshall found the first gold nugget in California, unleashing the historic “Gold Rush”. The new coaster from Gerstlauer, which combines three launch sections and two inversions, replaces the iconic “Looping Star” rollercoaster, which was already closed down last year (c.f. EAP news from October 7th, 2016).
Wouter Dekkers, Slagharen CEO, is very proud of the park’s latest addition: “We are convinced that with this first triple launch coaster – the fastest within the Netherlands with two inversions – we present a worthy successor to our old Looping Star,” said Dekkers.
