Tiergarten Schönbrunn: New Zoo Manager with Creative Idea
For the first time in the history of the world’s oldest zoo, the 255-year old Tiergarten, a woman took up the reigns on the 1st of January 2007: Dr Dagmar Schratter. As reported by the Viennese press, the new Tiergarten director is planning a sort of “adventure path in the treetops”, the rope bridges of which are to be installed a few metres above the ground. This will make it possible to be able to better observe certain animals’ movements and behaviour. (eap)
