Toverland: 4 New Rides Added to Avalon Area
(eap) Since this past Saturday, visitors to the Dutch Toverland amusement park (in Sevenum, not far from the border with Germany) have been able to enjoy the four new attractions that were announced last fall for the park’s “Avalon” themed area and implemented for an investment volume of 11.5 million euros: With “Pixarus” (a Sky Fly from Gerstlauer), “Dragonwatch” (a family freefall tower from Intamin), “Garden Tour” (a themed ride from Metallbau Emmeln) and “Jumping Juna” (a Jump Around carousel from Zamperla), there’s something for everyone.
In addition, the medieval-themed Avalon area, which opened in 2018 (see EAP 5/2018), has been complemented by new experiences for the youngest guests, including the “Sparky’s Splash Dock” water playground and the colorful “Little Dragons” toddler playground. While the water playground was designed in-house and implemented in cooperation with the company Monz Natur [Erlebnis] Anlagen from Austria, the playground for toddlers was supplied by the Dutch company Replay Speeltoestellen. Also, guests can now meet the two newly introduced characters (park mascots) – the dragon “Sparky” and the unicorn “Juna” – here. In “Waterdwarf Alley”, a small street with four interactive scenes, guests can meet Avalon’s water dwarves. This part of the expansion was also designed and decorated in-house, the construction was realized by Gepla, the animatronics are from Themics Philippines.
The main attractions of the Avalon themed area include the wing coaster “Fēnix” (B&M) and the water themed ride “Merlin’s Quest” (Mack Rides). ■
