UAE: The Family Place – New Indoor Play Offer Opened at Expo 2020 in Dubai
Interested visitors can still discover creative ideas for future solutions at Expo 2020 in Dubai until 31 March (read also our detailed report on the World Expo in our Mar/Apr issue EAP 2/2022). Last Saturday, a new indoor offering for families with children opened to the public in the sustainability area on the expo grounds, located next to “Al Forsan Park”. Dubbed The Family Place, the new entertainment area includes a variety of play activities as well as a family-friendly café inside.
Among the activities, for example, is “Maker Racer” for children aged seven to 14, where young guests can build their own mini car from natural and recycled materials and test it on speed and jump tracks. Selected stories in Arabic and English are presented to children in the form of animated presentations in “The Story Place” area, where they can listen or simply rest from the hustle and bustle on bean bags.
“The Family Place has been designed with the needs of the families visiting Expo 2020 in mind. Children will love our imaginative and playful experiences, all designed carefully to encourage creative thinking. And parents will enjoy the chance to grab a coffee and healthy snack in an environment where children are free to experess themselves,” says John Bull, Director, Sustainability Pavilion. By the way: Children and young people under 18 have free admission to the Expo grounds. (eap)
