UK: Further Details about The London Resort’s Theme Areas Revealed
The planned billion pound leisure and entertainment complex The London Resort (cf. EAP news of 2 July 2019) will feature two theme parks, about one of which further details were released recently. Six theme areas will be part of the park’s future visitor offer: “The Studios“ will be an action-filled zone with explosions and car chases, while the kids area “The Woods“ will be related to fairytales, immersing young guests into beloved bedtime stories and fables. The “The Kingdom“ area will be an immersive realm of swords, sorcery, dragons and legends, telling about England as a dark and ancient land and “The Isle“ will be a fantastic world of giant creatures and mythical beasts. In addition, the theme area “The Jungle“ will provide guests with an adventurous journey back in time to the Mesoamerican civilisation and “The Starport“ zone will enable visitors to get in touch with aliens in a thrilling science-fiction adventure. All themes areas of the park, which is scheduled to open in 2024, will feature numerous thrill rides and entertainment attractions.
In addition, the “The High Street“ F&B and shopping mile, which will be connected to the grand plaza in the entrance area to The London Resort, will offer several options of retail shops, restaurants as well as a Convention Centre and a waterpark. „We are creating a first-class theme park. A destination that maximises all the new, immersive and interactive technologies and experiences in the world. But we won’t just be creating a world class leisure destination, it will also be one of the most sustainable theme parks on the planet,“ comments Pierre-Yves Gerbeau, Chief Executive of London Resorts Company Holding. The first phase of construction work is supposed to begin in 2021. (eap)
