UK: RAF Museum Midlands Opens New ParadropVR Experience

The Royal Air Force Museum (RAF Museum for short) in Cosford, England (West Midlands region) is dedicated to the history of aviation and the Royal Air Force in particular. With special visitor experiences in its “Flight Zone” area, such as a virtual 360° flight with VR goggles in a “Spitfire”, the museum aims to complement its exhibition and make the stay even more exciting and versatile for guests. Now, “ParadropVR” has been added as another VR experience where visitors take on the role of a parachute member of the RAF Falcons. The Falcons are the UK’s military parachute display team, appearing several times per year on specific occasions to perform impressive formation jumps.

Matt Wells, CEO, and co-founder of Frontgrid, the creators of ParadropVR said: “I started my career as a para in the British Army, so that experience was very much part of the inspiration of inventing ParadropVR. So I’m particularly proud to see it feature in one of the greatest military museums in the world. […]”

At the RAF Museum, the VR experience has been named “Glide Through the Skies” and visitors can try out all five existing ParadropVR games here – exploring exciting landscapes and environments such as the desert, mountains or even outer space. (eap)
