USA: Disney Springs Open to Guests
About two years ago Walt Disney World Resort, located in Buena Vista, Florida, announced the expansion of its Downtown Disney area including a name change (cf. EAP News from July 25, 2013). According to media reports the rebranding to Disney Springs becomes official as of today. Disney Springs’ construction works started in 2013 and are expected to be completed next year. The expansion from 70 to 150 dining, shopping and entertainment facilities, which is carried out in phases, also includes a new pan-Asian restaurant which will open its doors for the first time tomorrow. Morimoto Asia is part of “The Landing”, one of four neighborhoods at the new Disney Springs area. The restaurant is a collaboration between Chef Masaharu Morimoto and Patina Restaurant Group. On its two levels Morimoto Asia features lounges, dining spaces, a sushi bar as well as an exhibition kitchen that allows guests a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the culinary action. “This has been a project of passion for our team and Chef Morimoto. We can’t wait to open our doors to everyone visiting Disney Springs this fall and beyond,” Nick Valenti, restaurateur and CEO of Patina Restaurant Group, says. (eap)
