USA: Ian Richter and Joe Garlington Join Spaces’ Advisory Board
California’s Spaces start-up company, which focuses on the development of virtual reality applications, recently welcomed Ian Richter and Joe Garlington to their advisory board. Both industry veterans will support the company’s further global growth by bringing in their wealth of professional experience.
Recently, Richter worked for US film production company Legendary Entertainment (as Executive Vice President of Franchise and Emerging Platform Development), previously he had held the position as head of creative franchise development and franchise executive producer at DreamWorks Animation. He has a long-standing experience in the development of IPs and virtual and augmented reality applications. His colleague, Joe Garlington, was Vice President and Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering’s interactive group, before retiring in 2014. He was involved in the development of groundbreaking technology for Disney’s “Toy Story Mania”, “Turtle Talk with Crush” and “Test Track” attractions, amongst others.
Shiraz Akmal, CEO of Spaces, is looking forward to their collaboration: “Achieving our incredible vision [of revolutionizing the theme park industry with VR technology] requires an incredible team of advisers, so we could not be happier to welcome Ian and Joe to our team. Ian’s remarkable ability to blend world-class entertainment with emerging technologies, and Joe’s rich history with the most legendary name in theme park design, will be extraordinary assets to Spaces,” he said.
