USA: Legoland California Turns 20
Opened in 1999 as the first Legoland park in North America with twelve rides and a “Miniland”, LEGOLAND® California, located in Carlsbad/CA, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Today, the park’s visitor offer includes more than 60 rides, shows and attractions as well as a four-hectare (ten acres) water park, a two-story visitor aquarium and two Lego themed hotels.
2018 saw the opening of the “LEGO City: Deep Sea Adventure” underwater ride from German manufacturer Mack Rides at the California-based park, representing Merlin Entertainments’ largest single investment in a Legoland park until then (cf. EAP News from July 2nd, 2018). During this year’s anniversary celebrations, visitors to Legoland California will be able to enjoy a range of new shows and special events. (eap)
