USA: Long Island (New York) to Become Home of New iFly Skydiving Facility

It won’t be long until skydiving enthusiasts can also enjoy a flight in an indoor skydiving tunnel in New York City. A new facility from iFly will come up in the city borough of Queens on Long Island, the island in the south east of US state New York. For this purpose, the iFly company signed a lease agreement this summer with The VOREA Group, a real estate commercial development company from Long Island City, who is realizing a new mixed-use project at Borden Avenue. The anchor attraction of the complex will be the iFly facility, which will occupy about 900 square meters across two floors of the building. Previously, the building was a commuter car park and is now being transformed for commercial development. According to media reports, the wind tunnel facility will be completed next year, while the completion of the rest of the building is expected in late 2023.

Following the iFly facility in Westchester (opened in the city of Yonkers at Hudson River in 2015), the new attraction on Long Island will be the second iFly attraction in the US state of New York. Another iFly facility in this region can be found in the city of Paramus (New Jersey), which opened there in 2018. In spring this year, iFly completed a deal with Qatar-based indoor amusement park Doha Quest, where another new skydiving facility will be installed. (eap)
