USA: Mt. Olympus Park to Build 44-Meter-High Slide Tower
The Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells (Wisconsin) – the so-called “Water Park Capital of the World” – is investing a total of eight million US dollars (approx. 7.3 million euros) in the creation of new attractions. Scheduled to open in the summer of 2024, “The Rise of Icarus” is a new highlight: a slide tower about 145 feet (44 meters) high that will be “the tallest slide tower in the U.S.”, according to the park. Four AquaTube tube slides and a free-fall slide from WhiteWater West will grace the tower. One of the tubes will launch at 44 meters high. In addition, a new outdoor kids’ water playground, equipped with eight children’s slides (10 lanes in total) and various aquatic play elements and non-slip Life Floor flooring is making its way into the park – also supplied by WhiteWater.
Just last year, “Medusa’s SlideWheel”, the first SlideWheel in the U.S. (also from the Canadian manufacturer), went into operation at the Mt. Olympus Water Park (read more in EAP 4/2022). ■
