USA: New “Riptide Race“ Dueling Pipeline Slide Opened at Aquatica Orlando
Guests to SeaWorld’s Aquatica water park in Orlando are now able to experience the new “Riptide Race“ giant racing slide, which was originally scheduled to open in the 2020 season (cf. EAP News of 16 Dec 2019). The attraction novelty is a model of the “Dueling PIPEline“ slide type from the Canadian manufacturer ProSlide. With a height of 20 meters (67 feet), the installation in Aquatica Orlando is currently the “tallest Dueling PIPEline gravity racing ride in the world“, according to the supplier.
On two parallel slide paths, water park guests sitting in two-person rafts can race each other down the almost 200-meter-long slide track. At a total of four “RallyPOINTS“ (U-shaped flume) sliders can see and hear each other in close proximity – an element, which intensifies the competitive slide feeling even more. Guests with a body height of at least 106 cm (42 inches) can experience the slide novelty accompanied by a supervising person, and with a body height of 120 cm (48 inches) and more unaccompanied.
