USA: New Exhibition at Disney’s EPCOT Displays the World of Jazz History

Since February 1st, visitors to Disney’s EPCOT theme park in Orlando (FL) have been able to visit the new exhibition “The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure“ at the “The American Adventure“ pavilion. This new exhibit is dedicated to the history of the jazz music genre, which is also an important element of the new Disney-Pixar animation movie “Soul“. “Joe Garner“, a highschool teacher and jazz lover, who is the movie’s main character, appears all over the exhibition and will “guide“ visitors through it. Louis Armstrong’s “Selmer“ trumpet is just one of many historic jazz artifacts which are displayed in the exhibition.

“Walt Disney Imagineering is thrilled to bring the compelling story of jazz to EPCOT. Our team was honored to work with jazz experts and institutions across the country to explore the rich history and influence of this truly American musical art form. We hope guests are as inspired by ’The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure’ as our Imagineers were bringing this exhibit to life,“ says Carmen Smith, Executive Development & Inclusion Strategies at Walt Disney Imagineering. For the concept of “The Soul of Jazz“, Walt Disney Imagineering cooperated with Jazz institutions such as the Historic New Orleans Collection, the New Orleans Jazz Museum as well as with the Louis Armstrong House Museum.
