USA: The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk Offers Visitors New 4D Theater Experience
The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Connecticut, has recently introduced a new, unique visitor experience in the form of a 4D movie theater, in which guests can enjoy 3D content on an oversized screen and simultaneously experience special effects such as bubbles, snow, wind, mist and more as a fourth dimension. The cinema experience, which was installed by SimEx-Iwerks is equipped with 169 seats and currently offers the two movies “Shark: A 4D Experience” (a BBC Earth documentary) and the family-friendly animated movie “Ice Age: No Time for Nuts 4D”.
“We’re very excited for our guests to have this fun, new, immersive way of exploring and understanding our world. Having a shark swim right off the screen so that you believe you can touch it and feeling the spray as an ocean wave crushes will be a memorable shared experience for kids and parents, students and teachers, young and old. Including a 4D movie is going to be a must during a visit to The Maritime Aquarium,” says Jason Patlis, President and CEO of The Maritime Aquarium. (eap)
