USA: Thomas Land at Edaville Open to Guests

This past weekend, Edaville amusement park situated in Carver, Massachusetts saw the opening of the first Thomas Land theme park in the USA. Covering an area of 11.5 acres (around 47,000 square meters) within Edaville, the new attraction features “Thomas & Friends” TV show’s popular characters like Thomas, Diesel, Toby, Cranky the Crane or Harold the Helicopter as well as the destinations Tidmouth Sheds, Knapford Station and Brendam Docks. Thomas Land includes a total of eleven rides, among them a 20-minute scenic train ride on a life-sized Thomas the Tank Engine™ and a tower drop on Cranky Crane. The opening of the theme park marks the characters’ and Edaville’s 70^th anniversary. Currently, there are two further Thomas Lands under operation worldwide, one being located at Fujikyu Highland amusement park in Japan and the other one at Drayton Manor Theme Park in the UK. (eap)
