Wiegand Maelzer Distributes 5D Theatres for Waterparks

Since the end of January the German slides manufacturer Wiegand Maelzer has been holding the distribution rights for the 5D theatres for waterparks brought to the market by Kraftwerk. A prototype of this new attraction had been installed by Kraftwerk in cooperation with Polin at Austria’s EurothermenResorts Bad Schallerbach in 2011 (cp. EAP 5/2011). This was followed by the opening of the world’s first “Waterplexx 5D” Multi-D Cinema SFX at Sunway Lagoon Waterpark in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) at the end of October 2012. According to Philipp Mehlich, Sales & Marketing Wiegand Maelzer, the 5D cinemas – especially designed for waterparks – are available in two different sizes featuring 24 or 36 seats. (eap)
