World’s First Shrek Attraction Opens in London Today
Announced for the first time in May last year (cf. EAP, News 08 May 2014), Merlin Entertainments (Merlin) opens its new visitor attraction “SHREK’S ADVENTURE!” in London’s County Hall along the South Bank today. It is the world’s first Shrek-Adventure – five more will follow within the next nine years at different locations across the globe. London’s new attraction is the result of a cooperation between Merlin and DreamWorks Animation. The unique walk and ride experience is targeted at the whole family and features a cast of popular DreamWorks characters. “There really is nothing like this anywhere else in the world and we cannot wait for people to come through the doors”, Paul Moreton, Merlin’s Group Creative Director, says. For more than two years over 400 people have been involved in the development of the Shrek-Adventure. For Merlin it is the 110th global attraction to open. (eap)
