“Experience.Europe.Together.” – Europa-Park Gears up for Big Anniversary
(eap) Europa-Park is anticipating its 50th anniversary in 2025. The Mack family, founders and owners of the park, will celebrate the “milestone birthday” throughout the year with visitors, fans and friends with special activities and events. Under the motto “Experience.Europe.Together.”, the celebrations will focus on the European idea. The anniversary season will kick off with the first Nordic Festival of Lights in the Rulantica: from January 13 through March 21, 2025, the water park will be transformed into a sparkling sea of lights. Guests can look forward to magical illuminations, glittering shows and entertainment as well as dancing northern lights.
Europa-Park kicks off the summer season on March 22. In addition to a new parade and further exciting performances by Europa-Park artists, there will be two summer night parties and various themed festivals showcasing the culture and cuisine of European countries. And while the spectacular new “Voltron” roller coaster – the world’s first Stryker Coaster, manufactured by Mack Rides – opened in the park this year (read also our cover story in EAP 3/2024), there will be a new attraction for families to mark the anniversary: In the former “Historama” in the Luxemburg-themed area the Gameplay Theater “Grand Prix EDventure” will await guests as of next year. On Europa-Park’s official “birthday” on July 12, visitors can look forward to action and fun until midnight.
By the way: Europa-Park receives the German Sustainability Award 2024, being a “driving force for sustainable change in Germany”! The citation states: “Europa-Park made it through to the final because the company has made particularly effective, exemplary contributions to transformation, thus setting an example and sending the right signals to its industry and beyond.” Ann-Kathrin Mack, Europa-Park shareholder and responsible for the in-house construction department Mack Solutions: “It has always been important to our family to act in an economically sustainable manner. [...] This starts with how we treat our employees, touches on our roots and economic impact directly in the region and extends to how we treat disadvantaged people and support young people. As a family business, we are very happy to receive this prestigious award, as it encourages us in our efforts to continue taking responsibility for the environment, social issues and the region in the future.” ■
