3 New Dinosaur-Themed Rides Open at Djurs Sommerland

(eap) After the new themed area “Dinosaurland” was opened last year at Djurs Sommerland with 25 life-size moving dinosaur figures (Billings Productions), the “T-Rex Family Coaster” (Mack Rides), the “Dino-Xpedition” jeep safari ride (Metallbau Emmeln) and an elaborately designed dinosaur skeleton playground (cf. EAP 4/2022), the Danish amusement park added three more attractions to the lineup of the theme zone dedicated to prehistoric creatures this year. The theme concept for this was created in cooperation with the Dutch Leisure Expert Group, which has also worked for the park in the past.

In addition to the Disk’O Coaster attraction “SpinOsaurus” supplied by Zamperla, which offers space for a total of 40 passengers and reaches a speed of up to 70km/h, two rides from the manufacturer Technical Park, “Motorbike Derby” and “Fossilvaskeren”, were realized. Motorcycle Derby is a Sidecar XL ride, where two people at a time take a seat in one of the twelve motorcycle sidecar teams. By turning the throttle, guests can interactively swing their gondola sideways up to 90 degrees. Fossilvaskeren is a teacup carousel – five people can sit in each of the nine gondolas. The total investment volume for the Dinosaurland theme area amounts to 150 million Danish kroner (approx. 20 million euros). ■
