Denmark: Djurs Sommerland to Invest 5 Million Euro in New Ride for 2019

The Danish theme park Djurs Sommerland has just announced to invest more than five million euros in the creation of a new ride scheduled to open in 2019: With “Tigeren“ the park plans to hand over one of Europe’s highest Gyro Swings to its visitors in due time for the beginning of the 2019 season in May.

The new attraction, which will be supplied by Intamin Amusement Rides, will complement the park’s “Wild Asia” theme area, which has been enthusing guests since 2017 with the “DrageKongen” suspended family coaster (cf. EAP 4/2017) and the two new family rides “Jungle Rally” and “Safaribussen” (cf. EAP 2/2018) in the current season.

The 40-passenger gondola of the pendulum ride will swing to a height of up to 45 metres in the air and reach a maximum speed of 100 km/h and with more than 4.5g. Leisure Expert Group, which was previously involved in the concept development of several attractions in different theme areas of the park, will again be working on this project. With a total of 808,000 guests, 2017 earmarked a new visitor record at Djurs Sommerland. (eap)
