All Building Application Documents for Therme Bad Vilbel Submitted

(eap) Germany’s Thermengruppe Josef Wund and the globally operating Therme Group have now submitted all the necessary planning application documents for the jointly developed mega-project Thermenwelt Bad Vilbel (close to Frankfurt, Hesse) to the building supervisory authority of the Wetterau district. Depending on the processing time of the applications, construction work could start this year, according to the two companies. The development, which has been in planning for more than ten years and has an investment volume of around 200 million euros, has been in the approval phase for some time – a building application was submitted at the beginning of 2021. Bad Vilbel is set to become the location of Germany’s largest thermal spa complex – this “title” is currently held by Therme Erding in Bavaria.

All the necessary planning application documents have now been submitted for the new thermal spa world, which is also set to become a flagship for ecological and sustainable construction. In addition to unique wellness experiences and a large sauna area, there will also be a sports pool, a family waterpark with a varied slide park as well as fitness and health facilities (also read our article on the Bad Vilbel thermal spa project in EAP 6/2021).

Incidentally, the Therme & Badewelt Euskirchen, operated by the Josef Wund thermal spa group, recently introduced an innovative multimedia experience for guests: In the “Immersive Sky”, those seeking relaxation can enjoy digital forest bathing (c.f. our latest EAP issue 3/2024). ■
