Austria: New Leisure Park Project Announced for Tyrol
In the Austrian community of Wildschönau, located in the Tyrol Alpes region, a new leisure park could soon become a reality in order to make the popular winter sports destination also attractive in the summer in terms of recreational activities for both tourists and residents alike.
A concept for “Freizeitpark Wildschönau” (Engl.: Wildschönau Leisure Park), which includes an Alpine Coaster, a Soarin‘ Eagle attraction and an ice rink, has recently been presented to the public. Behind the project are the tourism association of Wildschönau and the municipal council. Together with private investors, the institutions plan to invest a sum of four million Euros into the construction of the park. Planning partner for the project is Austria’s Input company, a subsidiary of international cableway provider Doppelmayr. According to Michael Unger from the tourism association, the first attractions will be ready to start into operation next winter (2019/2020). (eap)
