(eap) The amusement and animal park Busch Gardens Williamsburg (operated by United Parks & Resorts), located in the US state of Virginia, is looking forward to welcoming its visitors with a “new classic” in the upcoming season: Inspired by the roller coaster “The Big Bad Wolf” (a Suspended Coaster by Arrow Dynamics), which was located in the park from 1984 to 2009, the new Inverted Family Coaster “The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge” opens this year.

Guests can look forward to the wolf story of the previous attraction in a modern setting combined with a new ride experience. The coaster, which is supplied by Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), is set in a Bavarian village. According to the storyline, the villagers are preparing for a festival when suddenly glowing red eyes appear – the festive atmosphere turns into chaos. Together with the wolf, the guests race along the 760-metre-long track, reaching speeds of up to 64 km/h. The attraction will be North America’s longest Inverted Family Coaster, as the park states.

Families with children in particular can look forward to the new “Wild Oasis” area with a reimagined drop tower, an interactive water play area and a multi-level climbing structure (we reported on this in our EAP News of 18 Sept 2024). ■
